Vendor Spotlight: Joon Bridal

Hey there! This week I’m shaking things up and posting my vendor spotlight blog on MONDAY! I wanted to kick off the week right for those ladies who are recently engaged and for those who are starting to plan the wedding or intimate elopement of their dreams! Finding a gown you can fall in love with is so important, and I wanted to reach out to Beth Talebi, who owns and operates joon bridal in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to talk more about her story and shop.
Q: What do you do currently?
I’m Beth, the owner of joon! each day is different, but my role at joon is primarily behind the scenes; vendor relations, buying, purchase order maintenance, scheduling organization, website and social upkeep. Shayley (my right hand woman/lead stylist/manager/hype girl) is all things brides. Shayley handles all appointments these days, gown customizations, my buying buddy, etc. etc.
Q: How did you get involved in working in the wedding industry?

i interned with an independent bridal designer in NY during my senior year of college; during my time in New York, I dress shopped with my step-sister for her gown & feel in love with some of the sweet shops we visited. those experiences definitely lit a fire to create my own laid-back bridal oasis.
Q: When should a bride begin looking for her gown?
the earlier- the better, especially if you're a bride that takes a bit longer to make a final decision. it typically takes 4-6 months for a gown to be made & brides should factor in 2 months of alterations, so start your search 9-12 months before your wedding! if you are in a rush, many of our designer's offer rush for a fee, so don't fret.
Q: What’s the most important thing a bride should consider when choosing her gown?
be open minded! in your early stages of gown shopping, try on any & all silhouettes/fabrics that spark joy. from there, narrow it down until you find the perfect one. most importantly, be confident- you’re beautiful.

Q: What advice do you have for brides who are considering eloping? Does that influence the type of dress they should consider?
you do you! some of our favorite brides have eloped. if your timeline is tight- remember that designer's offer rush fees. && i think most people's perception of elopement gowns are simple & low-key dresses- which is totally great... but also it can be literally anything you want. if you want a ballgown or sequins or fringe, freaking do that.
Q: What tips do you have for brides who just aren’t sure where to begin when it comes to selecting their gown?
it can be tough! i say, start researching gowns & bridal shops online. figure out what shops fit the wedding vibe you're going for (formal, outdoorsy, boho, etc). once you head to that shop, chat with your stylist about all the feelings- it's okay to be unsure! once you start trying on gowns, you'll quickly learn what you feel best in & can go from there. take a deep breath.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your work?
of course, making bride's dress dreams come true!
